GEORGE NEWS - George Municipality has invited the public to collect wood chips that were generated through the ongoing storm clean-up, can be collected by the public from the following designated site:
Union Street Site: Corner of Merriman and Union Streets
Further sites will be included in the collection schedule during the course of this week.
This arrangement is intended to assist with the removal and beneficial use of storm-related material currently being processed by municipal teams.
Members of the public making use of this opportunity are requested to:
- Follow any instructions provided by operational staff on site; and
- Avoid disrupting ongoing municipal operations, vehicle movement, or processing activities.
Please note that safety precautions must be observed at all times when entering or collecting material from the designated site.
Your cooperation is appreciated as the Municipality continues with extensive storm recovery and clean-up operations.
