Tug-of-war held at the George Showgrounds
The South African National Tug-of-War Championship was held at the George Showgrounds last weekend. A total of 691 athletes from 116 teams representing the districts Eden, Cape Metropole, Gauteng North, Overberg and Cape Winelands, took part in the competition. Cape Metropole, with a total of 59 points, won the championships. Their closest competitor, Cape Winelands, finished 11 points behind them.
