ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - George music lovers can look forward to an evening of exceptional piano music when Dr Amit Yahav performs at the George Arts Theatre on Tuesday, 17 March at 18:30. The concert is presented by the George Music Society.
The London-based pianist, a multiple award winner, will perform a programme featuring works by celebrated composers such as Frédéric Chopin and Robert Schumann.
Widely praised for his expressive interpretations and technical skill, Yahav has established an international reputation as a recitalist, chamber musician and concerto soloist.
Now 35, he has already received several prestigious awards, including the Anthony Lindsay Piano Prize and the Brooks-van der Pump Pianist Prize at the Royal College of Music.
Originally from Israel, Yahav moved to London in 2005 to continue his studies. There he worked with respected teachers, including South African-born pianists Yonty Solomon and Niel Immelman. In 2018 he completed a doctorate in music, focusing his research on the interpretation of Chopin’s works.
His debut album, Amit Yahav Plays Chopin, was well received by critics, and his latest release, Fantasies, features music by Chopin, Schumann and Felix Mendelssohn.
