GEORGE NEWS - After 40 years of singing, the George Male Voice Choir is still going strong and will present its 40th anniversary concert and celebration dinner on Saturday 23 April.
Since the start of the choir in 1982 by the founder, Dalene Brits, the choir had numerous successful performances in South Africa and abroad.
Throughout its lifespan the George Male Voice Choir has always been an ambassador for George. Currently, the choir consists of 25 active members.
After almost 30 years of dedication to the choir, Brits decided to step down and was followed up by Jan-Erik Swart (of South Cape Youth Choir fame), Michael van der Walt and currently Gideon Brits.
Through the years, the choir has achieved many goals and highlights and was rated as one of the best adult choirs in South Africa.
The public is invited to their celebration dinner on 23 April when the choir will be accompanied by the Carpe Musicam! Boutique Band.
The concert will start at 15:00 in the Dutch Reformed Mother Church. Tickets cost R100 per person.
The dinner will be held at 17:00 in the church hall. Dinner tickets cost R150 per person and are available from choir members. Tickets for the concert will also be available at the doors.
Dinner tickets must be bought on or before 16 April.
