18 April

Design your own Easter egg (11:00 to 14:00) at Exclusive Books in the Garden Route Mall. The event is free, but bookings are still essential. RSVP on the website at exclusivebooks.co.za/pages/events.

25-28 April

Game Over. A gaming event for children at the Kobus Hattingh NG Hall in Glentana. Free entry for children under 10. Cosplay competition, online tournaments, Magic the Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, trading card games, food stalls, bull rides. Book tickets online at www.gameovergaming.co.za.

26-27 April

Glorious Sounds! Saturday 18:00 at DR Mother Church George & Sunday 15:00 at the St Paul’s Primary School’s Condor Hall, Industrial Rd. A philharmonic and massed choral collaboration featuring the Cape Town Community Philharmonic Orchestra, directed by Marvin Bourne; the acclaimed South Cape Children's Choir, directed by Jan-Erik Swart, and a massed choir from local George schools singing a variety of popular songs.

2-10 May

Chekhov Moments (varied times) at the George Arts Theatre. George Society of Arts presents this year’s Tapas Theatre, a mesmerising selection of Anton Chekhov’s most compelling scenes where unspoken desires, quiet tragedies and fleeting joys come to life.

With a delicate balance of comedy and melancholy, this collection invites audiences to witness Chekhov’s world of raw and poetic beauty through the complex, riveting characters. Showtimes are 2 May at 19:00; 3 May at 14:00 and 19:00; 9 May at 19:00; 10 May at 14:00 and 19:00. Tickets are available on www.georgeartstheatre.co.za.
