GEORGE NEWS - A drunken brawl in Syferfontein, Pacaltsdorp in the early hours of this morning (Saturday 3 February) has led to the death of Johannes Jantjies (43).
The murder suspect is in a serious condition, under police guard, in the George Hospital.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie, the police received a call from the community at 01:30 this morning saying that a group of residents were partying together when a fight broke out. “Both the victim and the suspect sustained serious stab wounds.”
Pojie said: “If the suspect is able he will appear in the George Magistrate's Court on Monday or else he will appear in abstention.”
The murder victim had stab wounds to his chest and neck while the suspect sustained wounds to his head and arm.
