GEORGE NEWS FLASH - The directorates of civil engineering and electro technical are currently working on faulty water pipes in the mountainside of Blanco.
The problem started around 08:30 yesterday morning (8 July) and has left Maitland, Fraaiuitsig, Sonsig, Soeteweide, Oupos, Searle and Napier Streets without water.
A water cart was parked at the NG Church in Napier Street to assist the affected people with water. A Water Tanker will be driving through the area with water as well.
According to George Municipality there is air trapped in the Golden Valley pump system. The Eskom reservoir service area is affected, but the problem should be solved throughout the course of the morning.
The municipality apologises for any inconvenience caused and ask for the public’s patience.
