GEORGE NEWS - The parkrun is a lovely family activity to enjoy every Saturday of the year at a variety of nearby venues.
It's a great way to get to know your surroundings when on holiday, or to start the weekend.
The event takes place punctually at 08:00 and is free of charge.
In George we are privileged to have access to a beautiful garden, the Garden Route Botanical Garden (GRBG), as our venue for parkrun. Other areas and towns in the Southern Cape that offer a parkrun include Hartenbos, Knysna, Oudtshoorn and Prince Albert.
From 2 December the GRBG will charge motorists a nominal fee of R5 to park on the lawn inside the garden.
Please note that parkrun is still for free and will never charge anyone for participation.
The above-mentioned fee is only for motorists wanting to park inside the GRBG. Free parking is still available on the paving outside outside the garden.
