This landing strip will be a massive boost to George and the Eden District when it comes to firefighting capabilities in the future.
Although the Fire Season is officially launched in December, it must be noted that in fact the whole year can be regarded as fire season and it is not only limited to Summer.
Due to climate change experienced world-wide, disastrous fires could become the new norm and prevention, planning and preparedness are critical to prevent losses to economic, social and environmental assets.
