GEORGE NEWS - The Garden Route SPCA was contacted by a caring George resident on 1 February, regarding a dog that had been deserted five days before when her owner moved out of his home.
The emaciated labrador crossbreed was chained in the blazing heat without shade, food or water.
The weather was extremely hot and when Senior Inspector Salome Bruyns went to the scene she was horrified to see the state of the severely neglected dog.
The dog was confiscated and charges have been laid under the Animals Protection Act 71 of 1962.
After three weeks at the SPCA the now affectionate little female loves to play and she has plumped up quite a bit.
She now needs a new home where she will be loved and wanted.
