Die Griffons-losskakel, George Whitehead, het Vrydagaand vir die SWD Arende gekelder in 'n Curriebeker se Eersteliga-wedstryd op Outeniquapark. Die skerpskutter het 18 waardevolle punte aangeteken met sy skoen in sy span se oorwinning van 33-24. Rustyd was die Arende nog met 21-12 voor gewees. Die Arende het 'n groot terugslag gekry toe hul slot, Schalk Oelofse, die veld in die 16de minuut van die eerste helfte moes verlaat met 'n kniebesering. Oelofse is vervang deur Grant le Roux.
