Sanlam-veldwedlope lok 500 atlete
Die 27-jarige Ettiene Plaatjies van Nedbank SWD het Saterdagoggend in ideale weersomstandighede sy titel suksesvol verdedig toe hy die moordende Sanlam 15-km veldwedloop wat by die Old Sawmill Shed naby George begin en geëindig het, vir die tweede agtereenvolgende jaar ingepalm het. Plaatjies, wat Vrydag met Dian Isaacs op Oudtshoorn in die huwelik bevestig is, het breed geglimlag toe hy as bonus met sy skitterende wentyd van 01:01.04 met die wentjek van R5 000 weggestap het. Die wedlope, wat uiters suksesvol deur Nedbank SWD-atletiekklub aangebied is, het 500 atlete gelok.
