Madiba Drive unveiling
It’s official. It’s the end of Saasveld Road. Residents who protested and campaigned against the change - basing their grievances on historical and heritage sentiment related to the forerunner of NMMU George, the old Saasveld Forestry College - have lost the fight. The newly named Madiba Drive stretches all the way from the Knysna Road intersection to the gates of NMMU George Campus. The official unveiling of Madiba Drive took place this morning at the campus gates, where the brand-new nameplate was shown to the media.
