The death of Tobias (Koeloe) Koen (62) at Voëlklip on Saturday 30 April, was met with shock and disbelief. Koen is the 8th person to have died at Voëlklip since November last year. Koeloe Koen's bakkie was found on the rocks at Voëlklip near Herold's Bay on Saturday morning, 30 April and an Air Mercy Service metro helicopter airlifted Koen's body off the rocks shortly after 12:30.
