New Mayco members in George council
The election and appointment of a new speaker, deputy mayor, chief whip and four new mayco members in the George Council was met with excitement at a Special Council Meeting last Monday 12 February. Not only were four new members added to the mayco mix, but a whole new team emerged after major reshuffling was done, since many portfolio councillors were assigned to alternative directorates.
