GEORGE SURF NEWS - River Gericke (14), from Wilderness, won the u.14 division of the Vic Bay Pro Junior surfing competition recently. Top junior surfers from all over SA took part and Gericke was the only local surfer to triumph in this highly contested 3A-rated competition on the junior circuit.
This Surfing South Africa event - the biggest of the three held so far - was sponsored by Sea Harvest and the Department of Sport and Recreation supported by ER24.
With Surfing SA endorsing this competition, surfing in the region will undoubtedly grow in popularity.
