GEORGE NEWS - Local Royal Swimming Academy athlete Hannah Murray showed her class with a spirited performance at the Grand Bled Swimming Challenge at the Olimpijski Veslaski Centre in Bled, Slovenia, last Saturday.
Hannah was one of fifteen swimmers in the Swim South Africa National Open Water Squad who participated in this international event as part of SSA's high performance strategy of train and race.
After a buoy lifted anchor and turned the 5km race into a 6,4km race,
Hannah was placed 7th overall for the ladies and 4th in the girls u.18, a phenomenal achievement. She is a member of the Royal Swimming Academy in George and trains under head coach Mimette Salter.
She was selected into the SSA National Open Water Squad in May this year.
