GEORGE NEWS - The George Tennis Club hosted an action-packed weekend of tennis from 15 to 17 May as players competed for top honours in the 2026 club championships.
Players and supporters enjoyed three days of competitive action, with high-quality tennis and strong displays of sportsmanship characterising the tournament throughout the weekend.
The men's A section final delivered an exciting contest as Eduard Steyls defeated Zander Dela Guerre to claim the title of 2026 men's club champion.
In the women's A section, Maaike Ferreira produced a strong performance in her final against Annaliese Potgieter to secure the championship title.
The B section also provided plenty of exciting moments, with Carter Farrell and Tiana van Niekerk emerging victorious in their respective divisions.
The club thanked all players, supporters and organisers for their contributions towards the success of the event and for helping create a vibrant atmosphere throughout the championships.
