GEORGE NEWS - The Evergreens Rugby Club in Pacaltsdorp received a warm send-off earlier this week as they prepare to represent George at the Super 8 Easter Rugby Tournament in Saldanha Bay.
Joined by Cllr Chantelle Kyd, a cheque of R30?000 was handed over to the team by George Mayor Browen Johnson.
The contribution is aimed to assist the players during the tournament and beyond.
“Local sports clubs are the heartbeat of our communities,” said Johnson.
“When they succeed, our communities succeed. While we cannot yet assist every club, we are committed to strengthening support and expanding these opportunities in the future.
“We wish the Evergreens the very best and stand firmly behind them every step of the way.”
