GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Eight children who train with The Surfer Kids non-profit organisation in Mossel Bay, surfed as part of the Eden Surf Riders team at the Western Cape Grommet Games and did extremely well.
The Grommet Games, held on 22 and 23 March in Muizenberg, Cape Town, is a grassroots surfing competition for young surfers, featuring divisions for U8, U10, U12, U14, and U16.
The Surfer Kids group did exceptionally well, with six of them making the finals and one of them, Avethandwa Mosikare, winning gold and becoming the Western Cape U12 boys' Grommet champion.
The Eden district team was the overall winner at the Grommet Games.
