Niflas, who came out last week with all guns firing, beat current holders of the title, A&J Konstruksie, and will now play Aon who overcame a determined ABSA side.
Both Niflas and Aon have supported Action Bowls since its inception and it is pleasing to see that this year for the first time they are in line to win the overall prize.
Another regular entrant, Mutual & Federal, are in 3rd position and will play newcomers Ooba. A big win by one of these two teams will certainly keep them in contention.
This evening (Thursday) the 5th and penultimate round will be played and GT Collections, A&J Konstruksie and ABSA who are in fifth, sixth and seventh places respectively will have to pull something special out of the bag to have any chance at all of contesting the final next week.
The Plate event is going to be a really hard fought affair and with two rounds to play Land Rover George, RICOH and Multistone all have 29 points at the top of the log.
Today promises some exciting bowls followed by the George Bowling Club's traditional braai for all the players, their friends and families.
