EP is the defending powerlifting and bench press champions of South Africa and are looking to keep the title of champions. The George lifters are the George sportsman of the year 2009, Heinrich Janse van Rensburg who will be competing in the 100kg class and former Protea Boxer Stephen Stander, also in the 100kg class.
NMMU accounting student Hanno Lourens will compete in the 110kg class and first time lifter and Outeniqua High School pupil Marne Botha will show his mettle in the 82,5kg class. Michelle Botha will be competing in the 52kg class bench press.
