GEORGE NEWS - International Woman's World Squash Day was celebrated by all the ladies in SWD at George Squash Club when some tough games were also played.

Newcomers were welcomed to the club and shown the ropes by the current members.

Champagne was enjoyed by all - A fun way to be introduced to a fun game.

The keenly contested George Squash Club Championships also took place at the end of last year.

The Ladies Open was won by Hester Willer who beat Helanie van Rooyen to be crowned Ladies Champion 2011.

In the Men's Open section Sheldon Erasmus managed to defeat Jacques du Plessis to take top honours for the second year running.

A festive BBQ was enjoyed by all after the prize-giving.
