GEORGE NEWS - Bradwon Boesak, a learner at Franken VGK Primary School in Herold, was selected for the national judo team to compete at the Commonwealth Championships in Birmingham from 25 to 29 September.
He is the first learner from this school to achieve national colours in any sport.
Judo instruction started at Franken in 2016 and a mere three years later the school's team were named the Development Team of the Year 2018 at the Eden Sports Awards.
Bradwon's mother and team Eden manager Jacqueline Boesak, as well as the school and coach Lilian Steyn, cannot be prouder of him on and off the mat, and achieving his national colours would not have been possible without their continued support.
