GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Blake Crankshaw fared the best of the Eden surfers in the GromSearch national competition which took place at Victoria Bay near George this weekend.
He reached the quarterfinals, coming third in the quarterfinal heat one for U18s and fourth in the quarterfinal heat two for U16s.
Eden’s Lazard de Bruyn came fourth in the U12s semi-final heat two.
Prior to the quarterfinals Blake came first in the U18 boys’ round one, heat one and second in the U16 round two, heat four.
Mossel Bay’s Kane Johnstone came third in the U16 round two, heat four
Other Eden surfers who did well in their heats were Destin de Necker (a fourth and a third place), Nathan van de Griendt (fourth) and River Gericke (second).
