They beat Land Rover George by 13-6 and remain top of the log at the halfway stage. A&J Konstruksie, the current champions, had a big win beating Southerby's 30-4 and are now second on the same number of points as Smitties but with a slightly lower shot average.
But Absa, Ooba and Ricoh still remain in the running for the coveted title of Action Bowls Champions.
From the fifth week the bottom half of the log will contest the Plate section of the competition. The Cansa team top this half way cut closely followed by Aon and Ieden Media. Just Movies and Niflas are a couple of points off the pace. The Plate event, as usual, promises to be keenly contested.
Ricoh and the George Bowling Club continue their fund raising activities for Cansa and the SPCA, who are doing the catering, and they appeal to all the teams and spectators to support these worthy causes.
Top 6 team points: Smitties 47, A & J Konstruksie 47, Absa 43, Ooba 42, Ricoh 40, Tavcor 39.
