GOLF NEWS - The Sunshine Senior Tour is pleased to announce that a professional golf tournament will take place at Kingswood Golf Estate from 12- 13 October 2023.
The event was made possible through funding from Fidelity, George Tourism, and a host of intermediary partners.
A superb field of professional golfers over 50 years of age will compete in the Fidelity Kingswood Classic over 36 holes at the Kingswood Golf Course layout.
On the 12 October, a Pro-Am will take place where 28 professionals will team up with amateur players in teams of four for some really nice prizes and fun. Day two will see the professionals play together in the last round to determine the winner.
Local players like Roger Wessels, Wallie Coetsee, Mike Quinn and Rob Wiederkehr are expected to show their skills, as well as other players who reside at the coast, such as Greg Upton, Ben Fouche and AP Botes. The up-country competitors include Kenneth Dube, Bobby Lincoln, and Mark Bright, who will be in the mix to win on Friday. Roger is a past Sunshine Tour PGA champion and has also campaigned successfully abroad.
These players will compete in a small but strong field. The course is in wonderful condition with smooth and quick greens.
