GEORGE NEWS - The Lawaaikamp giants Black Cats FC surprised Ubuntu during their first game in the Western Cape ABC Motsepe League on Saturday at the Lawaaikamp Stadium, sinking Ubuntu 2-1.
The three goals were scored by Xolani Mandla (penalty spot) and Viwe Mawindi (penalty spot) for Black Cats and Ryan Serfontein for the visiting team. Ubuntu netted the first goal within the first 20 minutes.
Black Cats retaliated with excellent attacks in the second half and converted two world-class penalties to win the game.
Peace Makers miss vital chance
The Mossel Bay-based team Peace Makers missed the chance of obtaining much-needed points away from home when they lost 3-2 against Simunye on Saturday 13 November at the Lawaaikamp Stadium.
The five goals were converted by Khanyisani Radebe, Simamkele Siphango (own goal) and Yamnkela Ntlaba, all from Simunye; and Asiphe Mpoposhe and Mphumzi Kalolo for the visiting side. Both teams are fighting for the top position in the Safa Eden Regional league. After six games played, Simunye is in first position with 16 points (five victories and one draw), with Peace Makers breathing in their neck with 15 points (five wins and one loss).
Peace Makers scored the first goal, but Simunye came back in full force, causing Peace Makers' defenders to panic.
