SOCCER NEWS - The newly formed Thembalethu club, Rising Stars, orchestrated a well-deserved 4-0 victory over Vuvuzela FC in a Geolfa Super League game at the Lawaaikamp Stadium on Saturday afternoon, 4 October.
Siboniso Nomana completed his brace, and Luzuko Blekiwe and Sibulele Njili were on the scoresheet for the Rising Stars.
Hlomla Hoco was a firecracker from the centre of the field.
Vuvuzela FC started the game on the right side, looking for loopholes, however, it was not easy for them to break through the stubborn Rising Stars backline.
The Stars took the game on the left wing; Sibonelo Nomana registered the first goal with a hard grass-cutter shot just outside the box, making it 1-0 for his side.
Vuvuzela was trailing 1-0 into the break.
The second half saw Hoco and Luzuko Blekiwe (Rising Stars skipper) gaining more control in the game. Blekiwe pulled off the second goal, making it 2-0.
The left wing back, Nomana, kept on pressing on the left - and surprisingly netted his brace to make it 3-0 during the last minutes of the game.
The Vuvuzela players were nowhere to be found and Rising Stars’ centre back, Njili, sealed the game on 4-0.
