Pacs side digs down to dip Western Tigers

FOOTBALL NEWS - The Western Tigers team blew away their chance of collecting points against Pacaltsdorp FC in their Geolfa Promotional League fixture on Sunday afternoon.

After coming back from 1-0 down, the spirited Pacaltsdorp earned crucial points when they sank the Lawaaikamp side Western Tigers 2-1 at the Lawaaikamp Stadium.

Both teams are logged on the bottom half of the Geolfa log table.

Linkin Mentoor and Jade van Wyk contributed the two goals for the Pacs side and Nande Valtyn scored the solitary goal for the Tigers team. Lukhanyiso Jantjies of Pacaltsdorp FC delivered a stellar performance, creating more opportunities from the centre of the field.

The fixture started at a fast pace with both teams rolling the ball on the ground. Western Tigers opened the score within the first 10 minutes, putting more pressure on the Pacaltsdorp backline.

The Tigers were playing offensive football to move into the box, but the Pacs defenders absorbed the pressure well, blocking their advance.

The tigers missed an opportunity to get in the lead when they missed a penalty kick.

The score was 1-0 for the Tigers at half-time.

The second half saw the Tigers passing the ball on the right side of the field to move forward. Pacs received a set piece just outside the box. Mentoor scored the first goal for Pacaltsdorp, levelling the score on 1-1 with a powerful shot.

Pacs kept on pressing forward and gaining more confidence to control the game. They scored another goal when Van Wyk netted a penalty, extending their lead to 2-1.
