SOCCER NEWS - On Saturday afternoon, 9 August, the Rooirivier soccer team, George United, punished the former Geolfa Promotional League side Young Killers with a score of 3-1.
The exciting Geolfa Super League fixture was played at the Lawaaikamp Stadium.
Davids Jacobs, Jordan Burgess and Lukhanyo Bless scored the three goals for the Rooirivier side and Asenathi Boli netted a goal for the Young Killers.
The youthful Rooirivier team is currently logged third from the bottom with 12 points, while the Young Killers are pushing for one of the top five spots on the Super League log table.
George United defender Declan Haarhoff gave a standout performance, blocking the passes from the Young Killers' attackers.

The Killers chased the game, but failed to break the net. United extended their lead to 2-0 just before the half-time whistle.
Both teams employed the speed of their flanks to attack during the second half. United scored their third goal from the penalty spot, with Bless beating the Young Killers' goalkeeper.
Asenathi Boli netted the solitary goal for the Zone 9 team in the second half to end the game 3-1.
