Young Pirates launched a counter-attack and managed to score their first goal after Someleze Phakamile capitalised on the Cats' poor back line. Black Cats tried to equalise; however, the first half ended 1-0 with Young Pirates leading.
During the second half, Black Cats came back hard and Jantjies scored an equalising goal in the last five minutes of the game.
