GEORGE FOOTBALL NEWS - Diego Masters stunned De Rust United 5-2 in an exciting game on Saturday afternoon, 2 March, at the Lawaaikamp Stadium. Both teams are currently sitting at the bottom of the SAB Regional League. The "battle of the bottom teams" started on a high note with Diego Masters using the speed of Zamile Mantla on the right side, breaking through De Rust United's defence. In the centre of the field Asahleli "Scara" Mrwebi fought for a first goal, assisted by Luphumlo Salami.
They managed a cross into the box but failed to break the net.
De Rust United captain Chandre Gouljats lost his scoring chance when he shot the ball straight to Diego Masters goalkeeper.
Diego Masters' right wing Zamile Mantla failed with several attempts to score. Left wing Masilakhe Mtibe's shot after a brilliant pass from Mantla was also unsuccessful.
Diego Masters' luck changed when they were awarded a corner and they scored three quick goals, as well as a beautiful penalty taken by Asahleli Mrwebi.
Despite missing many opportunities, Diego Masters was up 4-0 when the first half ended.
De Rust United started the second half with dangerous attacks looking for more goals, but were unsuccessful.
Even after Diego Masters scored their fifth goal, De Rust United stayed on the attack and, after a beautiful run with the ball by Ryan Sanders failed, managed their first goal.
A second goal followed and the game ended on 5-2.
