SOCCER NEWS - With six games remaining, the Lawaaikamp side, Black Cats FC, decimated the struggling Peace Makers FC (Mossel Bay) with a score of 8-0 last weekend.
The Safa Eden Regional League encounter was played at the Lawaaikamp Stadium on Saturday 29 March.
With 49 points, the Cats have the regional league's top spot firmly in their sights. They have played 24 encounters and had 15 wins and four draws. Peace Makers are currently logged third from the bottom of the log.
The Black Cats' evergreen Mphumzi 'Scara' Kalolo impressed with a solid performance against his former Mossel Bay club, while Liwonga Siko (17), a Grade 11 learner of Thembalethu High School, made the most of his acrobatic moves to ward off the attacks.
Despite a good start, Peace Makers could not get their game off the ground.
The Cats attacked on the flanks and Kalolo scored their first goal.
He also scored the second goal, followed by a brace by Lonwabo Choto shortly before half-time.
In the second half, the other four goals were netted by Xolani 'Velaphi' Mandla (brace), Siphamandla Hlangabeza and Nkosiyabo Toto.
