GEORGE FOOTBALL NEWS - The ruthless Lawaaikamp giants Black Cats FC are very much in the race for the SAB Regional League title after an impressive 4-0 victory against Knysna Celtics on Saturday afternoon at the Lawaaikamp Stadium. The goals were scored by Viwe Mawindi (2) Siyabonga Situlo and Sonwabiso Veiver.
Both teams are in the top half of the SAB Regional League table, with the Black Cats in second position and Knysna Celtics in eighth.
When the whistle blew the visiting team sat back and waited for the Cats to attack. They made their substitution early, swopping Ralushe Masithembe for Best Siyamathanda to add more stability at the back, with the Lawaaikamp striker Lunga Jantjies continuing to give their defenders a hard time. Enabo Dlamini, the Celtics striker, received a brilliant pass from Thembile Mbandeni and tried for a goal, but it went over the crossbar.
Zovuyo Maduna of the Black Cats tried his luck but his powerful shot was saved by Knysna Celtics goalkeeper Andile Kole, forcing the first corner of the game for the Cats. Lunga Jantjies received a beautiful pass played by Siyabonga Situlo, but was denied by the upright and the ball bounced back to Luyanda Laho, who shot over the crossbar, missing the open net.
Black Cats kept up the pressure on their opponents, with Siyabonga Situlo and Tsepo Mbenyane giving Celtics' Dayimani Thanduxolo and Thembile Mbandeni a hard time.
A penalty was awarded to the Cats after a foul by Celtics defender Best Siyamthanda, and Viwe Mawindi scored a beautiful goal.
Celtics' attempts to control the game and break through their opponents' defence came to nothing when their left back, Luvuyo Ngcaca, caused another penalty for Black Cats, which Viwe Mawindi turned into a second goal for the Cats. When the Cats received another free kick on the left side of the field, Mivuyo Ngubo tried his luck and drove a long-range shot, but the Celtics goalkeeper saved the ball, forcing a corner.

After half time Knysna Celtics received another chance from a corner kick but failed to capitalise. Lunga Jantjies unlocked Knysna Celtics' back line but failed to score. Celtics player Kwanele Mdlulwa impressed with his tactical play, creating chances for his side on the left side.
However, the Cats received a free kick just outside the box in the dying moments of the game and Sonwabiso Veiver scored the fourth goal for Black Cats.
