GEORGE NEWS - The Lawaaikamp Giants Black Cats football club recently obtained their new soccer equipment just before the third division regional league kicks off early in January.
The Lawaaikamp based side Ikati eMnyama (Black Cats), received a sponsorship from National Lottery which means a lot to the Black Cats boys in terms of training gear that is needed mostly for the basics.
George Herald was there to capture their training equipment presentation. After a difficult 2021/2022 season in the Western Cape provincial elite league, they were relegated last season from the semi-professional Western Cape ABC Motsepe provincial league and saw themselves playing in the Safa Eden third division regional league.
The team is currently challenging and fighting for the first position in the regional league, breathing in the necks of the Benfica football club from Mossel Bay.
So far they have played 12 fixtures with eight victories, three draws and one loss, earning them 27 points on the log table.
While the log leaders Benfica, who played 13 games with nine wins, two draws and two losses, are sitting at the top of the table with 29 points.
