SOCCER NEWS - The Black Cats pulled off a thrilling 3-2 upset against Fast Eleven in the Safa Eden Regional Men's League at the Lawaaikamp Stadium on Saturday.
Fast Eleven's Zefanias Mabunda struck first in the fifth minute (1-0), but the home side responded instantly.
Mphumzi Kalolo equalised from a set piece, and soon after, Fast Eleven's Siyavuya Myana accidentally turned the ball into his own net to hand Black Cats a 2-1 lead.
Myana quickly made amends, levelling the half-time score at 2-2 with a sharp finish.
The second half saw both teams pushing hard for the winner. Black Cats' young midfielder, Sange Manzi, dictated play alongside Kalolo, constantly threatening the Fast Eleven defence.
The decisive moment came in the dying minutes when speedy winger Asanele 'Parara' Mnyungula burst down the right, cut inside and fired past the keeper to make it 3-2, sending the home crowd into raptures.
The victory keeps both sides level on nine points after five matches (three wins, two losses each), underlining the competitive nature of the 2025/26 Safa Eden campaign. The Black Cats' blend of youth and resilience proved too much for a Fast Eleven side that has now dropped some points in consecutive weeks.
