CRICKET NEWS - Sussex and Pacaltsdorp United recorded victories in the series of SWD Premier League matches that were played last weekend.
Sussex (144/5) was victorious with a five-wicket bonus-point victory against Union Stars I (142 all out) at the Bridgton Sportsgrounds.
Sussex's Geon Burns (46 with the bat) and Jesse Lewis (4/28 with the ball) excelled.
Pacaltsdorp United (177 all out) weathered off a challenge from the Knysna Cavaliers (123 all out) and recorded a bonus-point victory - by 54 runs - at Loerie Park.
Leroi Bredenkamp (65) was the batting hero for Pacaltsdorp, while Anaxolo Kithsini (4/27) again impressed with the ball.
The matches in George between George and Union Stars II and New Dawn Park and the Harlequins Forces were both abandoned due to rain, and both teams log two points for a no-result match.
