The team is staying at KeNako Golf & Sports Academy and making use of the York High astro field on a daily basis. It is due to these professional facilities provided by York High and KeNako that the Proteas management would consider such a training week in George.
National team manager Dr Mohammed Moosajee confirmed that the training facilities provided in George are of the same standard as any other training facilities in
the country.
"In fact," he added, "getting out of the 'hustle and bustle' of the major centres for this training camp is advantageous to all players as distractions are minimal, there is little time wasted in traffic, and of course the fresh air and beautiful surroundings add to a very positive atmosphere around the squad."
Rob Walter, team trainer, is putting the squad through their paces not only on the York High field, but in the world class gym facilities at KeNako.
When asked how many hours a day the squad is training, Rob replied, "almost all of them".
