GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - After missing out on his 50 over (List A) debut for the Proteas in December last year, Ottneil Baartman (31) from Oudtshoorn, played his maiden 50 over match for the Proteas last week.
He missed out in December last year after suffering from a side strain injury against India in Gqeberha.
After representing his country in 10 Twenty20 matches, he was included in the Proteas team for the series of three limited over test matches against Ireland in Abu Dhabi in the UAE. Baartman bagged four wickets in the series which South Africa won 2-1.
Baartman, who is a key player for the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 league. also recently represented the Texas Super Kings in the USA Major league.
His first class career started with South Western Districts in 2014/15 season.
