GEORGE NEWS - The hourglass is starting to run out for the Garden Route Badgers women's team in their aspirations to remain in the top tier of South African women's cricket.
The Badgers women, who travelled to Durban the past weekend for a series of matches in the Hollywoodbets Pro series against the Dolphins, suffered defeats in both the Pro50 and Pro20 series against strong opposition.
In the Pro50 match that was played at Chatworth, the Badgers only managed to score 66 (all out) whereafter the Dolphins posted the winning total (68/4) in the 17th over.
In the Pro50 match at the same venue on Sunday, the home side – after being put in to bat – scored a competitive 143/4 and thereafter restricted the Badgers to 89/6 for a 54 runs bonus point defeat.
The Badgers will be under huge pressure for their next round of matches in the competition against Free State in Bloemfontein on 30 November and1 December.
