SCHOOL NEWS - Runners and walkers are invited to lace up their running shoes for a farm trail run for the whole family in support of the Usapho Indlu non-profit organisation.
The event will take place at Redberry Farm on Saturday 25 April. Participants will have a choice between a 5km and 9km route. The 9km race starts at 08:00, followed by the 5km at 08:10, and the entries open at 07:30 on the day.
Entry fees are R30 for the 5km and R50 for the 9km. Runners and walkers are welcome.
Proceeds from the event will go towards helping Usapho Indlu buy a second vehicle, which will enable it to expand its outreach and assist more children in need.
"We are working to see households transformed through the love of God to become effective and sustainable units in their community by focusing on one street at a time," says Sally Versveld, the founder and CEO.
Usapho Indlu works in Zone 7 in Thembalethu where one of their programmes, the education centre, is producing excellent results. The centre has 48 learners from Grade 1-12 attending every afternoon after school.
