GEORGE PROPERTY NEWS - The Chas Everitt International property group recently opened a new branch in Heather Park Shopping Centre to serve the needs of home buyers and sellers in the dynamic George property market, which continues to be fuelled by significant numbers of 'semigrants' from other cities and regions.
Figures from property data company Lightstone show that home prices in George rose with an average of 6% last year on the back of a 25% increase in the number of property sales compared to 2015.
The statistics also show that the biggest cohort (37%) of buyers in George currently are between the ages of 36 and 49, and that the properties most in demand are sectional title apartments in the R400 000 to R800 000 price range, freehold homes in the R800 000 to R1,5-million price range and estate homes in the R1,5-million to R3-million price range.
