NATIONAL NEWS - The family of Siphelele Malesila (9) is devastated by the news of their missing son.
Siphelele was last seen playing outside his home in Soshanguve on 1 March after returning from school, said mother Matjatji Malesila.
Malesila said Siphelele’s friend said they returned from school together but he had not seen him since.
“He usually plays outside the house and later comes home to bath and sleep,” she said.
“We searched for him everywhere, we even went to all his friends’ homes but he was nowhere to be found.”
Malesila said Siphelele was last seen wearing red shorts and a grey and white striped shirt.
“We were in shock when he did not come home from playing as he usually comes back home around 18:30,” she said.
They opened a missing person’s case at Rietgat police station in Soshanguve on 4 March a few days after he hadn’t returned home.
“We are pleading with the community to help us bring Siphelele home safely. Any information they might have on him please report to Rietgat police station.”
Police spokesperson Captain Stephen Maluleka confirmed the case was opened at the station.
“The matter is being investigated. There are no leads so far. The police are appealing to the community or anyone with information that might assist in locating the missing person to contact the Soshanguve police,” said Maluleka.
