NATIONAL NEWS - Three years and over R100 million worth of donations later, a new unit for sick babies is finally ready at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital in Cape Town.
Most of the money to expand paediatric intensive care unit came from generous Capetonians.
Some of the new additions to the unit include more beds, a waiting room for parents, a breastfeeding room and a space for social workers.
The first patients will be moved in on Monday.
The hospital’s Chantel Cooper says this neonatal high care unit is an important addition to the facility.
