“I always travel along Silverglen Drive as this is the fastest way to get to the Higginson Highway. As we passed the petrol station, I noticed a man standing on the side of the road. He threw a brick at the windscreen, which shattered and injured my daughter and I. My daughter was seated at the back seat and my 11-year-old son was sitting in the front seat,” she explained.
The distraught mother added, “I believe that we were easy targets and that there were accomplices waiting in the nearby bushes to accost us once we stop the vehicle. I knew that I had to get my children to safety and drove straight to a local surgery, where I stopped for help.”
