NATIONAL NEWS - The Democratic Alliance (DA) has announced it will open a case of perjury against President Jacob Zuma on Thursday afternoon.
This follows Wednesday’s judgment by the High Court in Pretoria that Zuma be held personally liable for the costs incurred from his failed bid to block the release of the Public Protector's State of Capture report.
The DA says that the judgment shows that Zumas and the ANC will go to great lengths to protect the president's personal interests.
DA leader Mmusi Maimane says: “It’s a day I think the judiciary helped us draw a line in the sand to help us charter a way forward as South Africans, especially as it relates to the president. I think the very significant thing is to begin to say that Jacob Zuma is now liable for R6 million.”
