Two arrests were also made for possession of heroin.
The units moved the intensified operation to different spots in the area.
All areas of Malvern were covered. Station commander of Malvern SAPS, Lt Col Reddy, stated that as the Easter holidays draw closer, road users must be warned that roadblocks of this nature will become the norm.
“This is in keeping with the end result, which is safer roads for all. This falls within the mandate of the SAPS and Metro. Party revellers are urged to make use of sober drivers or taxis to ensure a safe trip home,” she added.
Lt Col Reddy attributed the success of the operation to the excellent teamwork of the different units.
