NATIONAL NEWS - Western Cape authorities report that more than 200 electricity network incidents were recorded following severe weather between 6 and 13 May, according to the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre.
Eskom teams are continuing restoration work across affected areas, with progress expected over the weekend as conditions improve and access to damaged infrastructure increases.
Power has been restored to several locations, including Rawsonville and surrounding areas in the Cape Winelands, Calitzdorp and Sedgefield in the Garden Route, and Vredenburg on the West Coast.

In the Overberg, supply has been restored to areas linked to the Caledon water system, while Pringle Bay has been reconnected in the Cape Metropole. Repairs are continuing in Breerivier, Charlesford, Langkloof, Du Vlught, and Betties Bay.
Authorities indicated that load rotation measures have been implemented in municipalities including Witzenberg to manage limited capacity, and further updates will be issued as restoration efforts continue.
