NATIONAL NEWS - Deputy Police Minister Bongani Mkongi says that the commanders of two Cape Town police stations at the centre of firearms theft scandals haven’t been suspended.
More than 30 handguns were stolen from the Mitchells Plain and Bellville South stations in August.
The Hawks are investigating possible inside jobs.
Mkongi says that no action has been taken against the commanders at this stage.
“We can’t just summarily dismiss people. Because investigations and hearings are still underway, they’re still there. And then what’s going to happen is after the conclusion of such, we’re going to report to the nation.”
